Why do Jews only see Jesus as a profit? What part of the resurrection do they not get and why?

actually i'll go a bit further , many jewish folks dont recognise Jesus at all except as a trouble maker , by recognising him as The Way and The Light , they think they lose out from the old covenant

But Jesus Brought us a new one ,

now many folks then say that means jewish folks wont go to heaven , i disagree , God made them a promise and any promise by God you can bank on , its just they are stuck with the old ways and all the tedium they go through that way .. God still will honour that , as He Honours all His words

But Jesus came along to give all men , not just Gods Chosen people , the Jewish folks , salvation , now that stated Many jews have taken up His offer and many are sort of there and see Jesus as a prophet ..

as to why many dont , for that you'll have to go back into the Roman records of the period and take a look at the PR job the Jewish politico's did , they sided with the Romans to stop a uprising and denounced Jesus as a misguided young Zealot and a trouble make and urged the population to not worry about his teachings and showed his fate as what happens to those who would "rock the boat " so to speak ..

but those who knew and saw with their own eyes went on ( Thankfully ) and spread His message

and here we are today

many folks get stuck in tradition for many reasons

the jewish folks are in theirs for these same many reasons

But God will honour His word to them , But i'm awful greatful that He did send Jesus as He did and made a path for folks like me and made Heaven available to all who accept this Great Gift of Salvation

i'll shut up now and let Terry tell you correctly ;)

but a good question there Cycloneman

Why not ask a Jew? http://www.simpletoremember.com/articles/a/jewsandjesus/

1) JESUS DID NOT FULFILL THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES

What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? The Bible says that he will:

A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).

B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).

C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)

D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world—on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

The historical fact is that Jesus fulfilled none of these messianic prophecies.

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming, but Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright, and no concept of a second coming exists.

I cannot improve on Jack's answer, Cyclone.

And Carver is also correct; the Jewish people, for the most part, did not (and do not) realize that Christ was to come to earth twice; once as the sacrificial lamb, and once as the Lion of Judah.

But they will.

One of the Psalms of David tells them:
Psalm 22:16 (KJV);
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Psalm 22:18 (KJV);
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Christ quoted the opening words of that psalm from the Cross:
Psalm 22:1 (KJV);
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

An Old Testament prophet also spoke of Christ as the one pierced:
Zechariah 12:10 (KJV);
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

And finally, the book of Revelation tells us they will recognize him at his second coming:
Revelation 1:7 (KJV);
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Why didn't they recognize him the first time?
Man, how can otherwise intelligent people vote for Obama?
How can otherwise intelligent people think we can spend ourselves rich?
How can otherwise intelligent people think the government can provide something without cost?
How can otherwise intelligent people drink the cool-aid, knowing it is poisoned?

Because the Devil is alive and well, and living on planet Earth.
