Model Four Coltt Derringer Won't Fire

Hey guys, i'm new to this website and I have a colt model four 22 short derringer question. The gun won't fire. The hammer strikes the case and the gun still won't fire.Can anybody help???Thanks.

Could be a few things. Inadequate tension on the mainspring, hammer nose has been flattened, chamber out of round from dryfiring or some other reason why the cartridge isn't seating into the chamber fully. All of those are fairly easy fixes. More difficult would be excessive headspace.

Can you show a picture of the cartridge head after the hammer hits it?

Did it ever? Some of those little guns were made as non-firing display pieces, though I don't now recall if they could be opened and loaded or not.
