Squirrels here are pouring Gatorade on their nuts.
It's so hot the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
It's hotter than a $2 pistol on the Fourth of July.
Two young women were out walking in the country on a hot summer’s day when they saw a beautiful lake close to the road.
‘It’s so hot! Let’s go for a swim in that lake to cool down!’ suggested the first woman.
‘But we haven’t got any swimming things to put on,’ said the other, ‘ We can’t swim naked!’
‘Oh, don’t worry about that!’ reassured the first woman, ‘ There’s nobody here to see us.’
So they took off all their clothes and got into the lovely cool water for a swim.
After only a few minutes they noticed a farmer walking towards the lake carrying a large bucket.
‘Are you here to ask us to get out of the lake?’ the first woman asked.
‘I think he’s here to look at us!’ said the second woman.
The old farmer frowned and held up the bucket for them to see.
‘No, I’m not here to tell you to get out of the lake and I didn’t come here to watch you ladies swim naked.’ he replied. ‘I’m just here to feed the alligator.:D

Not bad right now. It's been up around 112-115 here and there, and as long as you stay out of the direct sun, not too bad. I was out at the range last week, 115, but with plenty of water it was fine. I did need to go get gloves to bring in the steel target and target stand - too hot to hold.
Independence Day was uncommonly cold, only 92 with the high humidity from those thunder storms, wore a jacket outside that night. No, no joke.

Sorry folks, 55 here in my neck of the UK. We've had reasonably heavy fog the last few days, it's cleared up today. We've also had some light rain over the last week.

The temp hit 101F here in Ohio today, with a heat index of 110F.
Tomarrow the high temperature is to be 104F, and if its that hot, I don't think the heat index will make much of a difference.
If this keeps up I'm going to have to shell out the dough to get the A/C fixed in my truck.
I'm glad we did not lose power in the storm last Friday like so many did. There is still 40 to 50 thousand without power.

It was 107 in the shade day before yesterday here in SE Ohio. I haven't seen temps like that in about 30 years. I've seen it worse though. I lived in St. Louis in 1980 I think it was when it got over 100 for 15 out of 17 days in a row with the highest being 108. The thing is it never got below 95 at night. That really made us cook. People were dropping like flies all around that place. I had to go stay at my sister in laws place for about 4 days because my generator wouldn't run my AC. I managed to stay one day when it was 102 but I couldn't take it after that. Now the freaking grocery store can't even keep their frozen food frozen because their freezer won't produce enough cold air in this weather. I bought some ice cream that was like soft serve when I got it home.
It's hotter than a $2 pistol shot through the sun. But I think today will be the last high 90's day. Next Monday (a week from tomorrow) the high is supposed to be 76. I can't wait. I hate the heat ever since those St. Louis days. It ruined me from this stuff because I was out in it too much working.

It's a little cooler today, supposed to be in the 80's. But we still haven't gotten any rain for a long time. From what I understand we're supposed to have 4" by now, and we've barely gotten any. Ground is dry and cracked, grass is brown. They say it's a moderate drought, but to me it feels like a severe drought.
