Suppressors and first round pop

This is an excellent example of first round pop when using a suppressor, the first round has a distinctly higher sound value...and the others are much quieter.

Yes FRP is a very common issue with many suppressors.

Or maybe gemtech and half the suppressor manufacturers out there just think FRP is a "technical problem" and not something that is to be worked on.

has nothing to do with the military, machine guns and suppressors are leagl in many states. It's a transferable machine gun with a .22 upper and a legally owned suppressor.

Is FRP a function of the condition of the suppressor - in other words, maybe its "too clean?" - like a first round zero is usually different than one from a slightly fouled bore?

I'm guessing something like that, as otherwise what would be the definition of "first round" unless its like a Thermos - it just knows... :)

The old Swedish K and S&W 9mm's we blanket heads used were generally function fired before heading to the field to aviod this - and other calamities.

You mean PA? suppressors are TOTALLY legal in PA, attached to ANY type of firearm.

They are "illegal" if you do not have Federal approval.

Frp is supposed to be linked to the difference in the internal atmosphere of the can. Read this somewhere, a long time ago, I think on the AWC website( Dr. Dater)
Interestingly, "wet" cans do not generally exhibit this phenomenon.
