Just to clear the air Bill r, a real gun, or better known as a revolver is also refered to as a wheel gun due to it's cylinder.
Those other things that some refer to as semi-auto's, are known as "bottom feeders"..... :D

Bill.....revolvers are called "wheelguns" due to the resemblance of the cylinder to a wheel, but also......
Legend has it that a teenage Sam Colt was crewman on a paddlewheel steamer and got his idea for the Colt revolver from watching the paddlewheel turn. Supposedly he carved his first revolver prototype from a few pieces of wood during his spare time on board.
Whether this is true or not (Sam Colt was great at creating his own legends), that wooden revolver currently resides in the Colt Collection (formerly the Colt Factory Collection) at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford, CT.
