So I got that Springfield Trophy Match I've been wanting.

Don't worry, there are 2 Glocks keeping it company in the safe.

Don't tell me nobody else got themselves a new gun for Christmas?
C'mon let's see some pics.

Whew, you had me worried there for a moment, Iron. :D Keep the Glocks and the 1911 together. Maybe the 1911 will learn how to be a modern striker-fired pistol instead of a single-action. ;) :p

Looks good! Did you buy new, or used?
I'm looking at a used Kimber TLE II, for some reason. Never had a Kimber before.

Silver, the external extractor gave some early problems. I have read a couple of reports where Kimber replaced the slides. I'd check w/Kimber before you buy.

I bought it new from *********. I sold my Kimber TLE II so I could get it.
Nothing wrong with the Kimber, I liked it also. I just could'nt afford to
keep it and get the Springfield also. I want to try competition shooting
next year and the trophy match had the features I wanted for the best
price. I will be getting another Kimber in the future when I can afford it.
I have heard the same thing about the Kimbers with the external extractors.
The TLE I sold, I bought used and never had a problem, but it had an
internal extractor. If buying a used Kimber, I would look for an internal extractor also.

Well, I got to shoot my new Springfield and I love it.
It functioned flawlessly.
It's pretty accurate, more accurate than I am.
I have to spend a lot more time shooting.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has
bought a new Springfield 1911, on how many rounds
it took to break it in. Also, as I have never had a brand
new one before, how do you know when it is broken in?
Thanks

Always give any gun a good cleaning before firing. Then lube.
After around 300 -400 rounds downrange, if no problems, the weapon is usually broken in.
BTW, nice pistol.
