i have a gun an orbeu dated 1863 or 4 its the first self loading automatic pistol made only a few were produced this gun has been assayed in uk has 8 stamed marks an ebony handle its .38 6 shooter i believe its a very rare gun can any one advise me diff

Are you sure about the date?

The Webley-Fosbery is a the most common "Automatic Revolver" 1895 patent

hello thanks for your reply looks nothing like thegun you sent me the pic of yes im sure of the date 100% but thanks for your time this gun self loads by trapping gas in a chamber that ejects the spent cartride and clicks the next one to fire many thanks daren

Hmm, never heard of a auto revolver that does that. I know the an auto revolver automatically rotating the cylinder and cocking the hammer after every shot after the first shot. The only ones "commonly" known are the Webley-Fosbery and the Mateba.

Didn't find anything on "orbeu", only "Orbea", but it doesn't list an auto revolver.

these guns were prototypes ive done some research and there are only meant to be6 in exitence one went missing from a museum during spanish civil war or the second world war no one can say this gun has its etchings rubbed to bear metal been rubbed to the bronze by the triger it has been deliberatly disguised i have the markings in a book on a big copper plate and they are in arow every one amongst 200 any way i could talk orbeu all night thanks for loking
