Was at the gun shop the other day to make my usual rimfire purchase of American Eagle HP's (which shoot Really good out of my Marlin) (400 rnds for 14$) when i noticed that fancy clear plastic box of CCI ammo. Two to choose from: a mini mag hi velocity (7$ for 100) and a standard velocity (8$ for 100). I asked the clerk what the deal was and he said its good ammo and the standard velocity shoots a lil better. so i guess i have two questions, first of all 7-8 bucks for 100 .22's??? and the other is how much of a difference is there between "standard" and "hi-velocity" I'm the kind of shooter who will pay extra money for more consistancy and more kills..

but really now guys (and gals)

7-8 bucks for 100 .22's??? better shoot realllllllly good

your thoughts on CCI .22 ammo please

My brother shoots the CCI high-velocity they kinda sound alot more like a .22mag then a .22lr. They shoot about 6 inches higher than my federal's. Accuracy at 50yrds i think is about the same, but somewhat more consistant with the CCI's. You don't get that occational wandering bullet. IMO, I would rather buy the federal at $14 for 500, but it is always worth a try, then you have another reason to go out shooting.

I think it all boils down to which ammo "your" gun shoots well.
Theirs nothing wrong with tryng a bunch of different ammo to figure it out.

My two ruger's like Winchester wildcats best and that's one of the cheapest on the market. Go figure.
