Its a "so called" smartcar made by mercedes benz. I think it is a design they pilfered from chrysler while they owned it?

I can still ride a bike, but I don't think I can fit in a Smart Car. Probably be "smart" to stay out of it...:D

bout the only place I've seen them smart cars is Amsterdam & California. To be honest, they are not that out of charactor for the Europeans... and some of the folks in Cali, well they are just a different breed of cat. IMHO things would have to be 10 steps past horrible before the average, red-blooded American would own one. just my 2 cents

I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, so that would put me squarely in the GOP section of the poll. Originally bought it to be a combination family/hunting vehicle. Now, it is ideal for carrying my big electric wheelchair, giving me freedom to come and go any time and any where !!!!! :)

However, I never take part in any poll that shows who voted for what.....

I drive a Honda Civic, but I have seen several Smart cars here in Athens, GA (a college town). I actually looked into buying one when the gas was $4 a gallon and I sure ain't no Democrat!!

Well lets see... my Honda has more American made parts than a Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler product AND its assembled right here in the USA unlike a few Chevys that are assembled in Mexico... So you tell me... is my car American or not?

Yea but who owns what?

I agree it's not a simple "American Car" and "Foreign Car" question anymore, but the money is still going to the business which is located either in America, or Foreign. You can support American workers and foreign business, or foreign workers and American business .

P.S. My Chevy was mostly assembled in Canada ;).

That's pretty ironic, isn't it? The Jap cars are out-sourced to the US because it's cheaper for them to build and they can get around the "import" fees, while American cars are out-sourced to Mexico, Indonesia,Thailand, or whatever 3rd world country because it's cheaper for them not to pay the union wages. Something's gotta be wrong with that. TJ:confused:

What a joke......there is no protection what so ever in that tin can Democrat car! A fender bender could put you in the hospital.......oh, on 2nd thought that quality free health care would take care of it.
