I am slated for Surgery for September 2nd to have the gallbladder removed.

However I woke up about 45 minutes ago with intense back/side pain. Doesn't seem to get better with a new position, suspect it is the gallbladder acting up. Really hope I don't have to go in for like emergency surgery or anything :(.

Appreciate some prayers, thanks :D.

Heavenly Father, we come before you today upholding Vladimir.
We ask that you would have mercy on him.
We ask that you would give him a touch this morning, and relieve his pain.
We ask that you would bring a complete and total healing to him.
And we do not pray about what tools you use, Father -
We only pray for the healing, by whatever means you choose to send it.
And we ask this in the name of Jesus the Christ -
The Great Physician -

Amen -

I will pray for you. I just had the same surgery last Monday (August 11th). I live in a town of about 17,000 population. The dr. told me he performed this surgery 389 times last year successfully. My pain started on a Firday night. I went to ER got on srtong pain med and finally got stable. I thought I would have the surgery that day but he had set it up for Monday. He told me since it was my first attack that I might not have another for a month. Well I went throught one night ok and then it hit me Sunday night. I toughed it out all night until 8;30 the next morning cause this was the day I had scheduled for surgery. Only made four incisions. Take my advice, even though you may feel a lot better 2 or 3 days after the operation, you'd better stay in and not do anything for about a week. If you want you can email me ashoultz@hotmail.com. I found out that this illness is proven to mainly fall during dog days in August......

You are in our prayers. My wife had hers out. Get some videos as you will be relaxing a little afterwards - about a week ....

Vladimir, don't worry having your gallbladder removed is not to bad. I had mine removed, just don't laugh for a day or two after;).
I will pray for you, and I hope you get well soon.

Oh Lord, we ask you to give Vladimir an English speaking surgeon,
and we ask that he is free from Mexican swine flu.
We ask that his nurse be equipped with a comforting chest , and she be under 28 years old.:D

Seriously, prayers sent.

Get it fixed quickly before we get on the Demo's Socialized Healthcare at which point your surgery will be scheduled out 2 years in the future. Besides, if the surgeon can remove it when it is not in a massive inflamed state, it can usually be done arthroscopically.

Thanks a ton everyone! I seem to have made it through day 1. My mom says when she had her gallbladder attack (it wasn't until then they realized she needed hers out, thank god I knew the cause of this pain or it would have been scary!) they don't really do anything unless the pain doesn't go away they could do emergency surgery.

She offered me a percocet (sp?) but I toughed it out because I hate pills in general  took a whopping 2 IB profuen today heh.

My surgeon is on vacation this week but the on call doctor finally called me back and assured me what I was feeling was just back pain... I didn't have the energy to explain that no I had felt back pain and after half an hour I knew this wasn't back pain .

So thanks again everyone, hopefully I won't have to deal with this again before the surgery!

What I'm seeing is not a gall bladder problem, per se, but a blockage in the bile duct.

True, but that is caused by gallstones and is remedied by removal of the gallbladder. Vis-a-vis same thing ;).
