There appears to be some mark or design, not sure though. This rifle measures 49 inches in total and the barrel measures 33 inches. Any info would be appreciated, thank.

This is a case where closeups are not as important as a good overall view, and a picture of the whole lockplate. All I can tell is that it is a percussion rifle ("cap lock") not a flintlock. I don't think it is a conversion, but can't be sure. If it is original caplock, it was probably made around 1850, but it has not been well cared for.
