Im new to this forum just found this gun in my grandfathers closet would like to know if its worth anything says 38 S&W. CTGE. on Left side and i guess this is the serial number on the handle 482808 any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

To properly ID this piece (it's a "Auto Ejecting" model in .38 S&W x 5 shot) and date it, we'll need the entire stamping on the top of the barrel rib. Also, there should be a serial number stamped on the front of the grip strap???
