Another story out there...
The American military's increasing isolation from mainstream America is also a point of contention for Gen. Dunlap. The nation's two million active duty soldiers have, over time, become a self-contained society~one with its own solemn rituals, language and system of justice. As one reporter notes, "increasingly isolated from mainstream America, today's troops tend to view the civilian world with suspicion and sometimes hostility."
2 million Rambo's Shiz... come on, get serious about what you're posting.
That in itself is understandable, due to so many people drawn into the beliefs you describe.
People are Sheeple?
No one has taken away my right to vote or my freedom of speech just to mention a few constitutional rights. So, I'm not buying into your beliefs nor will I spread a word that is filled with conspiracies and/or untruths.
Shizamus, IMHO your time may be better spent debunking the stuff you post, as to waste others time doing it.
Of course, I'll fight for your right to post whatever you like.
(within TFF posting guidelines) :D

I was born into a military family, I come from a long line of military officers, and I spent my childhood around military people.
You cannot convince me that the military society is "self-contained" or "isolated" from America. If anything, the military is one of the last bastions of the ideals that America stands for.
It is "mainstream America" that has gone off the deep end.

It wasn't intended as a "shot". Just speaking the truth. Just look at the moral corruption in mainstream America and look at the perversions going on. Look at the liberalism and the blatant attempts to turn America into a socialist country. Look at the way people whine about their government, while offering nothing of themselves.
The men and women of the US military are the ones who fight and defend our freedoms. They serve their country far better than any slick politician with aspirations of power and money. The men and women of the US military are, by and large, wholesome individuals who believe in God and Country. They will put their lives on the line to defend the Constitution and even defend the slime that protest against the military. While the liberals are out there sucking down marijuana and complaining about "the man", our military stands ready to protect them.
I agree that there may be some individuals in the military who would love to see our nation enslaved by the military. Some folks deep within the Pentagon probably have dreams of world domination. Weird people are everywhere. Bad apples are everywhere. But as a whole, the military stands for honor and duty. These terms are almost extinct in mainstream America.
Come to think of it, maybe that quote is correct. Perhaps the military should be viewing mainstream America with suspicion and hostility. Even disgust.

"A well placed shot" = "Hitting the nail on the head"

Well, to add my two cents worth here, I can only aspire to the fact that the USMC is a very close and tight knit unit, no matter where you served. I have never met anyone who would subscribe to what has been put forth here and I myself have never had even the slightest of thoughts in that direction. What do I say to this?

A military take over is actually quite rare.
A coup or take over facilitated or enforced by military force on the other hand is a more common means or leadership change than elections or negotiated agreement.
As for taking action against one involving the United States? Too late. It's over in Iraq and our own has been over for 130 years.
