A "group" near Detroit wants to display a sign next to a nativity scene inside of the city hall that sez' there is no reason to believe in religion.

In this country we have freedom of religion, and so the nativity scene would be legal .... this "group" ( not being a religion ) should or should not have the "right" to display their sign denouncing religion ?
Speaking just for myself .... they should shut-up and enjoy the holiday season .

God bless America, where everyone is free to express themselves.

I'm thrilled the city is "allowing" the nativity scene. As for the other group, it's always wonderful when people express their views. Makes 'em much easier to spot, just like folks sporting an Ologo or COEXIST sticker on their vehicle. Tells everyone else what they're all about. Lets everybody know where they stand, what they're thinking, what their priorities are. So when the SHTF, it'll be that much easier to pick teams.

If you go to ACLJ.org they list the case law on this type stuff. In summary, the city does not have to allow the display of the sign.

They need to ban Superintendent Langlois instead of Santa.

If there's one thing I've learned on this forum it's NOT to discuss religion, politics or Glocks unless you're ready to be flamed.

*CHUCKLE* .....Which would you call this thread , religion or politics ?
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Glock's .

RELIGION is man trying to get to God man's way=any way except Christ

CHRISTIANITY is man getting to God, God's way=only Christ

The simplest primary definition of religion is:

a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe.

Evolutionists claim that life started through some accident on this planet, and developed through a random series of mutations into everything that lives or ever has lived here.

There is no evidence for this whatsoever; it is simply a belief.

So Evolution is actually a religion.

i would agree with this...

in fact i would say that Atheism is a religion as well, it takes quite a lot of faith to believe that something came from nothing, so i don't have enough faith to be an Atheist...

Our family doctor said "It takes far more faith to believe all of this just happened than to believe it was all created by God!"

He is one of the RARE FEW doctors that treats his patients as Human Beings, not as just a higher form of animal life.
