Just thought I would see what everyone uses for an every day carry knife.

Here is an image of mine. It's a gerber evo with 3.4" blade

Buck Knives have really come back in a strong way. I spoke w/ a rep at the SHOT Show and got a chance to look over the entire line of knives and tools. I am again a Buck Knife fan.

But, I do sell quite a few Bark River knives because of the exotic wood handles they come out with from time to time. Plus, they have good, useful designs. Here is one I carry when I wear a suit or sports jacket. I use the sheath that is a money clip and credit card holder. Very handy...

Bark River's City Knife
Blue Maple Burl Handles
Overall Length: 6.125 Inches
Blade Length:2.6 Inches
Blade Steel: CPM154 @ 60rc
Blade Thickness: .145 Inch
Weight:3.375 Ounces

Of course, these are photos from Bark River Knives but they are the exact knives I kept.

Used to always carry an old Klein or Barlow "Hawk-bill" electricians knife. Now, I carry a lock back razor knife that you can change the blade in a hurry. When I used to hunt, I always had about four extra knifes with me in the truck besides the one I was carrying. I hate gutting and skinning deer with a dull knife. I have always insisted on a sharp knife! A friend of mine told me it didn't make any sense to carry a knife as sharp as I kept mine! He said if you dropped one on your foot it would take three toes off being that sharp. I told him, at least they would be clean cuts and it is easier for the doctor to put them back on again!

Years ago back in NY I carried a $4.95 K-55 folder. It'd hold a reasonable edge, was great for opening boxes, and cheap enough so if it went MIA it wasn't any big deal. Laid it down on the shop counter one day, turned my back for a few minutes and someone stole it. These days I carry a Taylor/Seto locking folder my son gave me about ten years ago. If I ever left it somewhere whoever found it would probably turn it in to the PD's "lost & found" - big difference between Sitka and the NYC metro area.

I'm watching SNF NFL Cinci at NE but Ialso love reading these threads! You can tell a lot about a man by things like the knife he carries, favorite sidearm even his favorite boots among other things here.

I carry a Gerber E Z out on my pocket clip. Now I have to hide it in my pocket when I go to town. A guy at the gas mart got arrested when he opened his coat to pay, he had a fixed blade on his belt. A LEO was next to him, and arrested him for a concealed weapon! I'm in Red Ohio, comrade! Wth!

Thats one good thing about my state. You can legally carry and size knife you want. You could carry a sword if you wanted. It has alway been like that in this state.

Kind of funny as we were the last state to allow concealed carry but they don't care at all about a knife.

OKAY!! Santa brought me a new personal favorite! It's a Victorinox folder. I would be comfortable carrying this anywhere. I put it into a soft belt pouch and have cut some cardboard etc and it's fantastic. I would use this to dress a deer.

Thanks so basically they are illegal except for some states.

But I did find this....

......(2011) (Reuters) - Maine lawmakers on Wednesday approved legalizing switchblades for people with one arm, moving close to becoming the first state to make such an exception to laws that ban use of the spring-action knives.

Backers of the measure say legalizing switchblades would eliminate a need for one-armed people to be forced to open folding knives with their teeth in emergencies.

The bill to allow amputees and other one-armed people to carry the quick-opening knives cleared Maine's Senate on Wednesday after passing the House on Tuesday, Senate officials said.

Until now, Maine banned the use of switchblades by anyone.
