Looking for some info on my Grandfathers gun he brought back from the war. The serial number is 290467K.
It is in good condition and the holster is signed "Schallus"

The holster is a plus, the signed name adds a little history ( unless you are able to trace the individual ) but the name adds no value. The pictures are too dark to see tiny little details but the Waffenant marks are there ( military acceptance ), the gun is in decent condition with a few marks o it and a little holster wear. I believe it dates 1940/1941 , the proof marks should be an eagle over an N. Everything WWII is going up in value, every one wants to be part of the greatest generation. , the holster has value, even the grips will bring a couple of hundred. There are those who much better versed than I on the Walther's but I would guess-a-mate 600 to 700 because of the holster. I know there are those who believe that is perhaps high value but again people are paying crazy prices for any thing WW II. Could be wrong, I think I was wrong once back in 89 but not sure.

Agree with above assessment on value and dates of production.
I do not, however, see any "waffenamts" on this gun.
These would be Eagle/359 stamps and would be present on the left side of the slide and on the left side of the frame, around the magazine release button.
The Eagle/N marking on the right side is a standard firing/final inspection proof and is non-military.
