I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations on a detachable magazine set up for the Remington 700 in .308. The internal mag box completely sucks and the rounds gets stuck a lot. I dont want to shell out close to $800 for aics stock. Something more close to the $200- $300 range

CHW, that's just a floorplate conversion for a blind-magazine ADL/Sportsman to give it the hinged floorplate like the BDL has. It's still an internal non-detachable magazine.

Sounds like the OP is looking for a full detachable box magazine conversion bottom iron.
Brownells has several to choose from but none of em are real cheap...most of em in the $300-400 range.

Some fitting will be required for even a floorplate stocked rifle. I don't see any that are a direct drop-in.
If the OP has a blind magazine (ADL) then more work on the stock will be required to open it up for the new bottom iron.
Also remember, unless you've got a long heavy barrel on the rifle that magazine is going to wind up hanging out of the rifle right at the balance point and it can get clumsy to carry.

But, if the problem with the OP's magazine is just a functioning issue then it can probably be fixed a lit cheaper. More specific info will be needed on what type of feeding problems it has. Feeding low, feeding high, follower jamming up, etc. It's possible that all that needs to be done is either replace the follower spring or maybe even just get it reinstalled correctly. If it's not in the right spot or has been bent up a bit you can have feeding problems.

I have a 700 BDL in .223 and have constant feeding problems. The magazine is supposed to hold 5 rounds, but I've never been able to load 5 and get more than the first to feed. Even loading 3 at a times I have to watch every round go in the chamber and there will be at least one jam about 90% of the time.

The spring and follower seem to be in good shape, but maybe I don't know what to look for. The spring can move forward or back when the mag is closed up and I have tried several positions and none seem to make any difference.

The position of the cartridges in the mag can make a difference. If they are too far back the bolt will not push them in the chamber. It they are too far forward the whole stack of cartridges will be canted up and the bolt will not push them.

The problem occurs with factory loaded or handloaded ammo. I've tried changing the OAL shorter and longer and that does not seem to have any effect - they all jam.
