Hey there! Just joined the forum. A couple months ago, I googled "custom Mosin Nagat", in search of ideas for mine. I actually came across images of your rifle and they were a bit of an inspiration. Then, I join the forum, and here's where they came from. I just completed my build on my 1944 Mosin Nagant 91/30.

Welcome to the Forum! You Mosin guys are a different breed of duck. I know a lot of guys who have them and they all swear by them. I only had one - an M44 Carbine - and I swore AT it until I sold it off. I could not hit the broadside of a barn with it. One of my buddies said he found the problem with my rifle - he said there was a loose nut on the trigger. I looked and never found it.;) From these posts it looks like there are some nice ones out there.

What are you shooting for ammo?
-
I was given a tip (tnx LD) on 303 British hot-cor speer 180gr (.311) and another tip (from another but forgot who at this moment) for the imr4064 (load data in Hornady 9th, p428 was used) and it shoots great. The 150gr was ok, but 180 did better. Did best at a range that had a nice bench at 100 yds. I have some Sierra 175 bt's but keep those for the 300 yds. After seeing your pix, I want to get back to shooting my MN. Fun gun. I have to use the texas precision muzzle brake so my neck doesn't lock up.
