It was around $17.99 to$18.99 a box now it's $23.99 to $26.99 around here.Even at big sporting goods stores where it used to be a bargain.Maybe that's a trend that's starting on ammo prices.9mm is still the same in all the stores at this point. It's just something I noticed all of a sudden.Being observant!
It seems that some of the best deals on ammo can be had on-line these days. Some offer free shipping like you say.I just noticed the trend at local gun stores in my area wondering if anyone else noticed an increase like me.I like shopping on-line watching the shipping track to my location like I've mentioned before.I know there are still deals out-there with a little searching.I have the feeling we might post something in the future a couple of years from now like.Remember such and such ammo was less than $20 a box!
I roll my own so I have not bought any in years but I did notice that Academy Sports had theirs at $18.99 where I noticed before SH it was running around $15
Once the wife decided she wanted a .38 revolver, I looked at the prices of factory ammo and added that to my reloading efforts. While I notice the price of .223 and 9mm has dropped here close by, all that I've bought was the 9mm as I'm not set up to roll my own yet in that caliber.
The only ammo I buy off the shelves is rifle ammo, and I have noticed that the cheap ammo is not available, only the premium ammo is available. I do buy SD ammo for all my hand guns, when I can find it, and the prices are going up. Sure you can buy it on line, but you still have to pay S/H in most cases. And I've seen some really high S/H charges for a lot of the ammo sold at "below" store prices.
The ever evolving gun market is interesting to follow, except when you go to buy something and it isn't there!!!
