The only reference I've ever heard of "9mm Police" is Sellier&Bellot's police load for the 9mm Luger/9mmParabellum/9x19mm. I don't know what, if any, difference there is between it and their regular 115gr FMJ load since I've never used any. I've seen it on the shelves at one local store and they wanted a few bucks more per 50rd box than the other S&B 115gr FMJ load.
Otherwise, the other guys have pretty much everything covered.
The one I'm buying for is my 6906. I bought it the day it hit the LGS, many years ago. I've tried to carry my other guns, but it fits my body best. I already bought the ammo, based on Georges advice...9mm 9/19 Luger. I've always bought from stores, buying on-line presented 3 different options I hadn't ran into before.
Thx
Raven, be thankful you weren't looking for ammo back in the old days. There were so many odd-ball calibers (that went extinct) I don't know how the heck anybody managed to find correct ammo. My cousin's widow has a .40-60 Ballard. Try to find ammo for that one......
I've gotten permission from my wife to have one shelf in her walk-in to store our ammo, I ran out of room in mine. It's gonna be a no-go-to unless the SHTF, of any type. Now, I need to get some range rounds. I just found out today, or, I guess I was reminded, that I had bought her a .22lr pistol way back when. She quit taking it to the range because after about a dozen shots, the empty gets caught on the way out. Fooling with it became too much for her to deal with...so, knowing nothing, it's waiting to become a collectors item.

9mm Ultra Police was used by the postwar Germans as a police caliber. There are some Walther PP's chambered in the round. There are also some Italian Mauser copies chambered in the round. Powerwise , it's a super-380 , but ammo is hard to find. Fiocchi seems to make a batch a year. I bought some of theirs from Georgia Arms.
