i read articles back in the end of 12 that said the money backer behind bushmaster wanted out of the gun business.. yet .. I bought a bushmaster within the last year. a carbon 15.. and they still have a website up ??
I understand that when that group bought Bushmaster, they promised the owner that things would not change, at all. The next thing you know they moved every thing and all of the employees there at Bushmaster were laid off/fired. The old owner started up a new company there in the same town (Windham, Maine), maybe in the same plant, and started a new business. He hired all of the employees that Bushmaster fired, named the his new business Windham Weaponry.
Yes Windham is doing just fine. They were formed only about four years ago by the old Bushmaster exec. All of that staff is now a part of Windham launch. I saw their facility in Maine.. I would consider buying another AR from them. Their have down home outstanding customer service n pride of workmanship.
I was a dealer (or at least I had an FFL), back in the mid-80's and I was stationed in Rhode Island. My very first bushmaster was a lower that I bought directly from the company and upper parts that were liberated from the Army. They used to put out a little catalog, a little smaller that a half sheet of paper. The catalog was from Quality Tools Inc, which was Bushmaster. I used the order form in that little catalog to order the lower. I wish I had gone up to Maine to take a tour of the plant.
