Improve the trigger on Win67A

The trigger mechanism on the Winchester 67A is about as simple as simple gets. Feels about as precise as swinging a gallon paint can around by it's wire handle. Plus has a ton of side to side slop that I feel should be addressed. Anyone ever tried to slick one up ? My first idea is shims on each side, polish all the parts involved, and add a dab of super blue Teflon grease.
Thoughts ?

It sounds like you want to make a NASCAR racer out of Prius? The 67 is a low end gun with a trigger to match. Made to be simple and reliable. What you said may help but it will never be a match trigger. Polishing the surfaces will most likely yield the most results. Just be careful not to change any of the angles. I keep thinking you really want a model 52 or perhaps a 75 target?

"Red Rider" trigger, absolutely. I know I'm building the proverbial silk purse from a sow's ear here, just trying to improve the situation a bit. I already have a gorgeous Win52c Mike but thought she needed an inexpensive little sister.
"PRIUS" !!!!! That was harsh Mike !!!!!!! ha ha ha ha
