All I

All I really know is Saiga brand which sucks because I love Saiga they are amazing guns I own 3, including two 7.62x39s and a saiga 12
Have you had any good loads for 500 and 1000 yard stuff with your Mosin 7.62x54r? Using yours as a template has made shooting mine a blast.

I am going to get the steel S&K scope mount that wraps around the hex receiver I have. The places I have found that will do the bent bolt want my original. I want to keep that (matching s/n) so I can have it all put back to original if I want. If the Mosins drop in price this Christmas, I will just buy another gun for parts since the price of a bolt is almost the price I paid for mine last year. For now, I am having good success at 100 yards using a thin front sight I got off ebay.

Wanna bet that Saiga and other Russian companies will set up a assembly facility in another former republic country for "assembly" and sell guns to the (largest market) USA as made in ---------- (fill in the blank) country?
We are the reason Russia has a civilian gun mfg industry in the first place.

Laws in some parts of the world are more like guidelines, China did not really produce the quantity of sporting guns that Russia now does; import ban didn't really affect their industry. Russian companies are selling mass quantities in the US marketplace and the money involved is just too much to loose.
How many Baikal shotguns do you think Academy sports buys?
Also, isn't this a good example (in miniature) of what can happen to the "world market" ? What if China cuts off the US? Hell, we can't even dress our army without chinese made garments.

My opinion only.

I don't think we could dress an army, feed it, or arm it without China's help.

I wouldn't worry much about it. By the time Obozo is done we'll all be reading the Koran or speaking Russian or Chinese any way.

Anybody ever get to wondering how it is that both Russia and China are behind the UN 'Ban Civilian Guns' attempts and treatys - yet they sell tons of arms and ammo to the U.S. market? I honestly don't know. Maybe someone here could 'splain it? (I'm not saying I want anything banned or frown on anyone who buys it, I just don't get it. Never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed.)
