Looking to find out how much this gun is worth and any info on it, we have recently bought this gun and want to find out the true value of what we have. 3 Barrel Musket Drilling made by J Harder and Son. 402 is stamped on the barrel. the gun is in great condition with silver inlays. Also has the name Josh Golcher engraved on the gun. Any info is much appreciate so thanks in advance.
Don't know anything about the gun but Josh Golcher was a lock maker. The Golcher family supplied locks to a lot of gunbuilders in the 1830-1860 time frame.
One picture of the ornate butt stock is not enough to form an opinion. You will need to post a good library of the entire gun and as gdm said, any marks or stampings. More than likely American made and from the one picture it almost looks refinished.
If you Google J Harder Rifle you will find many responses with good info on him. This 3 barrel gun is a variation of the more often seen 2 barrel twist rifle. It could be worth a fair amount of money. Do some reading and find out some more about him and his guns.
If I'm seeing the muzzle correctly that's a double rifle drilling, a "doppelbuchsflinte" I believe is the correct German translation. If the condition is original it seems to me that is a valuable firearm. I'm sorry I don't have any idea of the value
