what brand and model is everyone using for powder. I bought a hornaday and am very unhappy with it. It was quite cheap about 30 bucks so I guess I got what I paid for but before I shell out more bucks I'd like some feedback

sorry to hear you are having trouble

I have 2 of the Hornady GS-1500 scales and love them. I recalibrate them every so often and make sure to follow directions about setting them on a hard flat surface and they have preformed great for me.

Kinda like Show Low's recent thread about his GS-1500 experience...
I do know a couple guys up here using that scale and they've had good luck with theirs. I do see a pattern though...a few guys posting a while back about that same scale having drift problems.

I've posted it many times that I'm a PACT fan. Kinda like LD and his Dillons...:D
I've had very good luck with my DPPS but I also have a BBK sitting in a garage sale find box that works good too.
I've got 19years on my DPPS now and it's still kicking. It's still around $125 but you can find it on sale for $100 at times. I paid $175 for mine when they were first hitting the market and I'd pay it again too. It has treated me well. I've dealt with their customer service department with some of their timer products too...like most of the reloading equipment companies they've got good service. PACT has been in the electronics market for quite a few years, specializing just in the electronic gadgets for shooting sports. Not like the press/die makers that are adding whatever scale they can get a good bid on to their catalog because all the other companies have digitals too.

Like I suggest in the other thread, a search through the older threads in here will turn up quite a bit of info on the digitals vs each other or digital vs beam scale.
In short summary...some guys have been having good luck with those cheaper scales and some haven't.

I bought an MTM Mini off Amazon that has amazed me at it's accuracy and consistency. I check every tenth charge on my beam scale and in thousands of charges I haven't had it vary. Does eat the batteries if you leave them in it, I just pop one out when I'm done using it.

RCBS Rangemaster 750.110 volt ,stays calibrated,no issues so far as theres no breezes etc.I do have it mounted on it's own dedicated small 6"x8" shelf screwed into the wall next to the bench, not on the bench. This made a big difference.
