Buddy of mine got this pisto few days ago. Has no serial number or hallmark. 1 inch barrel with a hole on top. Research suggest flobert pocket or parlor pistol. Does anyone know how to date or value this???

If it has a hole in top of barrel it may be a blank pistol, with only a shallow hole or none in barrel muzzle. Value as shown about zero.

Not the original Flobert design, but only real difference is the flimsy cover or gate between hammer and cartridge, and here are similar ones in the 1911 German "ALFA" catalog.

A Flobert has a very heavy hammer and no breech closure, depending on the heavy hammer with firing pin mounted on it to perform that action. The non-floberts as shown in the above illustration were the cheapest of the very cheap dating from late 1800s. Many real Floberts were finely made for the affluent as parlor pistols for indoor shooting of cartridges with only a primer and little or no powder, for safety with its no-breech-block action.
