While I have two of the guns listed - a Hi-Power and a S&W Model 10 - I found the slideshow by Esquire just below to be far more interesting. Especially when I saw what looks like a Beretta 92FS tattoo adjacent to Rihanna's right extraordinary mammary protuberance.

As a matter of professional interest only, it would be helpful to have an independent confirmation of my identification of the make and model, of course, since tattoos are easily misidentified.

Wonder what happened to that poor little M&P? Those German proofs? And the barrel is notched for an acorn, but it ain't got one, so either the rod has been replaced or the acorn ground down?

Poor abused baby.

Those lists are nearly impossible and generally pointless.
But, it seemed fairly obvious that the 1911 or the colt new army had to be number one. No way a late model polymer frame pistol of any brand could possible top the list of "best ever"

Happy to say I have five and a half of the guns on the list, A blue Single Six was my first handgun and I still have it. I also have a Beretta 92FS, a 50's vintage Colt SAA 45LC, a Ruger Mark II, a Model 60 that I carry, and although it isn't a Colt I have a Springfield Armory 1911....

The absolute best gun ever made is the Hi-Point.
because
You pull the trigger and it may save you the cost of a bullet and keep it in the gun. That's a savings these days. You may never run out of ammo.
or
You fire it, the round might miss the BG, may be saving you the cost of being sued for shooting some one.
or
You fire your gun, the round hits the BG, but doesn't stop them cause of their adrenaline, but you are safe because the slide shoots off the rail and strikes them in the forehead and scares them to a life of purity naming their children after you.
or
You are building a fence and your hammer head flings off behind you in thorny bushes. Not to worry, you are carrying your concealed hammer!

I don't own a Hi-point, never have and never will. The one I shot a while back was very accurate and had at least 300 rounds fired through it. During that shooting session, it did not have any jams or misfires of any kind. I know you are joking, but you need to shoot one of them before you run it completely down!!

I was joking a bit, but...I know some folks (friends actually) that work at the local Cabelas gun counter and they have had to return a few right out of the box as they are demonstrating it to the customer. They say that it gets a bit embarrassing at times to open a new gun and the slide won't lock or the trigger is wonkey. The Gun Library takes guns for trade and they have mixed feelings. They account them to some of those small 380's that have a history. For a tank pistol that costs 150 on sale, it would be fun just to mess with one. But I wouldn't have one for my self defense. I don't care how reliable it had been. Of course I can't say much, I bought a Mosin Nagant! Then again, I have a sense of humor and would rather like to hear the same for my ol 1934 Hula Tula tanker.
