Hey Guys,
Just picked this rifle up a few weeks ago. I've looked up the serial numbers and think that it was made in 1962 from what I could find. I don't know much about Husqvarna rifles, in fact I had no idea that they made rifles before I saw this one. Does anyone out there have any info about this rifle?
Thanks,
Rob400

You appear to have either a Model 3000 or a Model 3100. Both of them used the 1640 action - basically the same gun.

It appears that it has been restocked - I can find no record of a Husky with a thumbhole stock.

I agree with Alpo that your Husky has been restocked.
The way the grip cap and forend tip are fitted and triple-spacered makes the stock look very much like an older Reinhart Fajen stock (before the Battenfield Group got their paws on the company).
It might be a one-of-a-kind by some gunsmith too, but that is very typical Fajen styling.

It's a very nice looking rifle and should make a good shooter. Hard to pin down exactly which model it is after it's been reworked over the years, but it is the basic Husky 1640 action.

Alpo, thanks for the link. I see in the table where it would seem to be a model 3000 or a 3001 due to the availability of the 7mm caliber. The only thing that doesn't quite match up is where it says the rifle came with front and rear sights, where this rifle has none? Do you think they could've been removed? If they were, there's no marks on the barrel where the would've been.
Thanks again for the help!

Bindernut,
I too couldn't find where a husky came with a thumbhole stock, but sure do like the way it feels. Just picked up some ammo and looking forward to getting it sighted in! Thanks again for the helpful info!

My first thought was it was a Skorgis, but the dates are wrong. They were made from 64 to 67. 53cm (21 inches), no sights, stamped "F.G. Company". But your serial number puts it as made in 62.

'Course, serial numbers ain't always perfect. Might be they made an action in 62, numbered it, and set it on the shelf, and left it there until 66, when they pulled it out to make a 7mm rifle out of it.

I ain't sayin' that's what happened. But it coulda.
