What I have here is a Husky Model 3000 in 7mm Rem Mag. Fitted with an older Redfield 4x12x40mm Accu trac(think its from the late 60's). The SN on the rifle indicates that it was made in 62'. I've been told it's most likely been restocked at some point with this Fajen style thumbhole stock. I've been offered a trade and just curious what it might be worth? Thank you in advance for your help.

Rob, I haven't a clue what that thing's worth, but it's beautiful. There will be experts along shortly who know more than I, but I know they're going to ask for more pictures, and maybe a serial number. Since you're in the PRC and we know you're being watched, you might want to obscure a few of the serial number digits, just in case. But more pics of the barrel, crown, receiver and bolt would be helpful.

Welcome, by the way, to the best firearms forum on the web.

Rawright54,
Thanks for your patience, just saw the proper posting etiquette and will get better with time. Here are a few more pics of what you requested. I'd say the blueing on the barrel and the condition of the stock are both 8 out of 10 at least. Thanks for the warm welcome to TFF.

Is that bore dusty or pitted? Can't tell from the picture. From the looks of the custom trigger, this gun has been worked over for target shooting. Huskys are fine guns, but are generally undervalued and, IMHO, the fact that yours had been modified will limit its marketability, so I'd guess it is in the $300 to $350 range without the scope. The scope has its own value, but I have no idea what it would bring.

Up here in ND, you don't see many either but asking prices are a little higher than what Buffalochip posted. A 1640 action Husky with the original stock usually has a pricetag of around $400-500 on it if it's in similar condition as yours.

Going by these pics and the ones in your other thread, it's in good shape as far as the barreled action goes but that thumbhole stock will ding the value a bit as it's a rather personal customization and even though the wood is in excellent shape if it doesn't fit the buyer then it's a good bargaining chip to lower the pricetag. If the next guy likes the stock...well then you can get the price of a custom stock in on the deal but that usually doesn't happen.

The trigger shoe is a common add-on that was the poor man's way of getting a better (lighter) feeling trigger. I dunno if the trigger itself has been worked on but that wide surface makes for a lighter feel. Easy to remove it if the next owner doesn't want it.

As it sits now, I'd probably offer a bit less than that $300-350 that Buffalochip posted only because I'm a southpaw and the stock wouldn't work for me. But if you can get that out of it on a trade I'd think you did good.
