thanks guys, I am now officially infected with Black Rifle Disease. I just got done spending some money on another AR build. This one is in 6.8spc. Stripped lower and adjustable stock from Brownells. Lower parts kit with MOE grip from PSA. And the expensive part, a complete upper with 16" stainless 1/11 barrel, aluminum free float forend and stainless flash hider from SOTA arms. I also ordered a pair of 5 round mags from SOTA as well. I hope they work OK.
Next is to buy dies, brass, bullets, and find a worthy scope. Then take it to the range and get it ready for my mom to hunt deer next year

I'm so glad I bought a completed one. I don't want to know the thrill of building one...I get addicted to anything that feels good. Although, I just seen a complete one ( upper and lower ) for 300 and change on a slickgun ad.
I just checked UPS. My upper has made it from Conroe TX to Houston, Dallas, and is now in Oklahoma City. It's supposed to be here by end of day tomorrow. Range trip this weekend!!!!!
I ordered it from SOTA which is in North Branch Minnesota. Why is the upper coming from TX?
Sorry but there is no cure for the BRD.
However don't despair. It is a well known fact that you can go into remission at around your 12th build.
Good luck
Read a long article on-line yesterday. Cop shops are doing away with their shotguns as their ( patrol weapon ). They are switching to AR .223/5.56. Lots of reasons including accuracy, amount of ammo before reload, not as many people have to be out of the area before they can fire at BG, accessories, tend not to go thru walls and kill somebody on the other side and more.
Now I'm confused. From what I've read in many posts about them, they're only good for shooting tea-cups, why would they change? Dumfounding.
pretty darn anxious right now. UPS says it's in town here. I'm taking my scope and lower to work today.
Take a wild guess where I'm gonna be this weekend. I wish it was summer so I could have day light after work instead of waiting for the weekend
Major disappointment. The package UPS was emailing me about is actually some CCI quiet .22 ammo I ordered. I'll have to call SOTA in the morning and see what's up
It's amazing how a persons attitude can change in 13 hours. I just got off the phone with SOTA. They gave me a tracking number. Then I looked it up on UPS and its on the truck for delivery today.
This may be the best birthday present I've ever gotten even if it's from myself.
On another positive note I must comment on SOTAs service. The phone rang once and Trudy answered. She then was extremely nice and thorough with information. These people have their $hit together. I'll definately be doing business with them again
