Went to the small show today. Money in my pocket. Really looking for a Remington M600 in .243 or 6mm. I passed on one a few months ago and have regretted it ever since. That gun was not here today. But, there was this Marlin 39A. I could not pass this up. I had one 50 years ago and for some stupid reason got rid of it. So I bought the one today and am thrilled. Merry Christmas to me. And the wife is happy too.
The wife has wanted a Henry Golden Boy for a long time, There was a new Henry there today and I let her choose. She deferred to me. Sweet Lady......But she got her turquoise necklace and earrings. I am very happy. Henry may be good but the Marlin is king.
Congrates Jedwill, I have a golden boy, and love it. A friend of my mine has the Marlin 39a, so I get to shoot it once in a while when we go to the range, nice gun. You will love it. Too bad you couldn't slip back in a get the Henry for your wife when she wasn't looking. Would have been a nice Christmas present for her too.
There's just something about a lever action rifle that I love. Must be growing up watching Chuck Connors, Steve McQueen & John Wayne. I think they even had lever actions on the F-Troop tv show. I don't have one, but I've been checking out the Rossi 357/38 special model lately. Still love shooting & reloading foe revolvers
I've always wanted one also.It would go nicely with my BL22.Then I could get a Win 9422 and I'd be set rimfire-wise at least.
