A buddy found this in a storage locker full of stuff. Looks like Bubba hacked the stock. Bore needs cleaning but the rifling looks very well defined. He wants to know if this has any value as is or should it be parted out?

Get her fixed up and she will be good for those little blacktail Kodiak has, some of the best meat I've ever had (lived there ten years), it won't do you much good against those 1200 pd bears though!
It looks like a WWI TS carbine refurbished prior to WWII. The good thing is that the barrel and sights are still there, so if a good TS stock could be found it could be restored. I would guess this gun is worth around $75.00 as is. Parted out it might fetch $40.00
Thanks, I'll pass this to my friend. We'll clean it up and give it a try, located a few, very few, rounds locally which was a miracle. Ammo availability here on an island is a problem for oddball calibers. If he decides to keep it he'd better get set up to reload.
