It look's to me the Russians took the design and made the AK-47.It really almost looks just like one.
They got the design from the B-29 and got the Bear Bomber they use today.
The Russian space shuttle looks like ours.
Russian Migs look like F-14's.

Have the Russians invented anything on there own,Just wondering!

I don't think she could legally "sell" it to a museum, but it may have been papered by husband and she had no idea.As she is the widow IRS can legally investigate if her husband in fact paper it.ATF would probably give an "exemption"for it to be donated to museum.

Only problem is the term "Gun BUYBACK" When did the city ever own this gun? If not, there is NO 'buy back' involved. Proper term should be "Gun Turn-in".
Glad the old piece was saved. Sad to think of so many historically important guns that have been destroyed.

I'm sure this "buy back" got some junk guns off the streets, but at the same time there were some valuable guns lost forever.

Every now and again, the city of Atlanta does one of these buy backs. Since it is legal in Georgia to sell guns "person to person" there are some folks that stand on the street near the place where the buy back is being held and are doing theirs own version!! Here is a video clip from one about a year ago:

I'm sure if we knew we'd all get sick to our stomach. I'm doing my part to buy as many as I can to save them from becoming scrap :)

IF the husband did not get this on the federal register when a brief registration period was offered in 1968, the woman, the police and anybody who touches it are violating VERY serious parts of the 1934 Firearms Act. The police CANNOT keep it or sell it, period. The woman must contact the ATFE who will come to her house and confiscate it. She will not get a penny. Now that this video has aired, she's sunk. They don't sell for $40,000 like the cop said, but a properly papered one will fetch $15 - 18K. I had a legal one for years and it was a blast to shoot!!
