What is your favorite 357 Magnum revolver??

Favorite .357 Magnum revolver. That's like asking which is my favorite child.

I can narrow it down. It is a Smith & Wesson. Uh - um - it's a "K" or "N" frame. It's blue. It has a barrel length of four inches or less. (Which leaves out one of the Models 27 - sorry Alpo!) I'm pretty sure it's not the two and one-half inch version (extractor throw is limited). Uh...

Now I've locked up and can't go any further.

I have three .357's.

My most favorite would have to be the one I inherited from my Dad. It was his pride and joy. It is a Ruger Blackhawk with the 4 5/8" barrel that he customized. It is a shooter and has been well shot.

I used to carry my 8" Dan Wesson model 15 a lot on overnight fishing trips and bagged a couple of whitetail deer with it.

The other is a Colt "357 Magnum" which is a glorified Colt Trooper with a wide target hammer and etc. It is like new in the box and only has been fired 6 times. I bought it off the original owner when he was dying from cancer because he said he would rather me have it then his worthless drug addict kids. He threw in the original box of shells from when he bought it new. It only had six spent rounds.

My only one so it must be my favorite one. Ruger Match Champion. View attachment 90822
I rented one of these at the shooting range on Saturday and I had a blast shooting it! Nothing beats the feel of a full sized revolver!

Right now I don't have one. I have never found that "favorite one". In a moment of weakness or madness in the last year I have sold the three, shown below, that I had. I am sort of looking for a nice six inch 586 or 686.

Have a few and have owned a few more but I guess if I had to pick a favorite one, I'd have to say my 28 S&W w/6" barrel. I've owned a pair in 6" and also have one in 4" but, I can easily shoot the 6" more accurately.
They're accurate, reliable revolvers, and being built like a brick outhouse, you can give them a steady diet of full power loads.

For sheer beauty of form and proportion, the bright blue 6" Python. For a "Holy Grail" .357 I'd want one of the first N Frame S&Ws, that came in the walnut box with a Registration Certificate. These were the very first revolvers ever chambered for the new magnum round. I'm thinking mid 1930s, but not sure of their release date. Elmer Keith worked up the load in conjunction with S&W. They are worth a ton, if you have one. But for my everyday gun that I actually own, it's an S&W Mod 66-2 with the 2.5 inch bbl. Pachmayr rubber combat grips (and an action job) with a first rate piece of leather to put it in... Good enough! :)

I agree with you on the Python winning the beauty contest, for current generation the 686 works for me.

Wow, what beauties!

colt python 8 3/8 " barrel with the most incredible blue I've ever seen. It looks thick somehow. Point of Aim is Point of Impact with sights dead center. A trigger that makes you understand what "Best factory revolver ever built" means. She is even Ported. Follow up shot is bang bang. Is she 400% better than my S&W 19, No; but she is better.
I do also have a new 686 Pro Series that the Performance Center did a trigger job on that is quickly winning a spot in the rotation. Great trigger!

I'm on a Ruger budget too! Wish I could afford a Python, 8" barrel though. I think it would become my new hunting hand gun!
