My wife is looking to get a second 9mm to carry. She is basically a Ruger gal but considers a purple gun a plus. Since she has a Ruger LC9 in purple, she wants to get another purple 9mm. When looking at the various web sites, she came across the Kahr CW9. The color is right, but she will not buy a gun that does not perform well. With the accumulated knowledge on this forum, I am asking the members to let me know about their experiences with Kahr 9mm's and Kahr overall. I thank you in advance for helping her make a smart decision. Also, if you think she might be better served with another makers 9mm, please put your advice in. Thanks bunches.

I bought a Kahr CW9 and after a few months, took it to the range for the first time and the gun did not fire , called khar and they agreed on fixing the gun but I had to pay for the shipping to them. I told them that it was outrageous the fact that I have to pay for shipping for a gun that was brand new and malfunctioned, the customer reps (called several times) that answer the phone were not very polite, almost rude I would say . Based on this experience I would never buy a kahr again. I have sent guns to other companies and the customer service is great. I believe that how the company treats their customers is as important as the quality of their guns.

Kahrs are decent guns but most women find them to be difficult to rack the slide on. I would try before I buy..

I have been looking at the Kahr also, but in .40 or .45 ACP. I owned a S&W SD9 and hated it. The trigger pull was horrible, so I sold it. While I was looking at the Kahr's at my LGS the owner showed me another SD9. Told him of my experience with the other and he asked me to try the one he had. Smooth as could be. I'm not a huge 9mm fan, but for the money I'd consider this one. You might try looking at the SD9 if the Kahr doesn't work out. Test the trigger first though.
