Bersa Thunder Plus thoughts and opinions

Hi Guys :) ...

I started rebuilding my previous firearms collection with a nice SKS. Now that I have that squared away my next order of business was to pick up a sidearms for daily carry. I ran around and tried out a lot of different models of handguns but a large majority of them were either too big and bulky for what I was looking for, or they were too small for my big hands and felt like tinker toys or derringer'ish to me.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Bersa Thunder so I decided to check one out as well. I am glad that I did because it's exactly what I was looking to start out with.

It's compact yet just the right size for a daily concealed carry in the small of my back especially when i Ride'. I know every gun is a little bit different and they all prefer certain types of ammo over others, but I was wondering if anyone has had any particular types of ammo that have been known to cause issues with these ?.

I've done a lot of reading on them and checked out a lot of reviews and videos as well and they seem to have a really good track record. Even Hickok45 was impressed .

If you guys have any suggestions or thoughts let me know. the only time I'll probably use it is plinking & at the range. As usual, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it :) .

Btw, I have the Bersa thunder plus model with the 15 round double stack mag.

My wife has shot and carried a Bersa for years and I am always recommending them due to their size, dependability and ease of handling. I havent found any ammo they wont shoot yet. You wont be sorry.

I bought a Thunder....4-6 years ago essentially for the reasons you mentioned, light, handy, easily concealed. I believe mine is more than accurate enough for the range and use intended. My experience echo's Double D's in it's dependability with various ammo. I like mine...but have to confess that I've come to prefer my CZ-82 and 83. I don't believe they're much if any better, I just like them better.

Thanks guys, I like it because it's bigger than all of the pocket pistols and tinker toys that I have looked at yet is a skosh smaller than a 24/7 9mm. Compact enough to be easily carried without being a hinderance and still big enough to get the job done if needed, especially in this area because there is little to no crime here to speak of other than the run of the mill hoodlums.

I really like the large grip and I am glad they didn't go with a smaller grip just for proportional aesthetics. All the other compacts I looked at felt too toyish for this reason. For $240 with a box of shells it was a great deal :) .
