Hi, I am wondering about the value of my Iver Johnson Hijo Quikbreak .38 S&W. The bluing is 80%. The grips are made of plastic with some surface scratches. The bore and cylinder are smooth and it locks up tight. Everything works on the gun, including the ejector spring. The s/n is P1467 on the right side of the frame. On the right side below the barrel, it is stamped "Iver Johnson's Fitchburg Mass. USA". On the left side below the barrel it is stamped "HIJO QUIKBREAK". Stamped on the left side of the frame is "38 S&W". Thanks very much for your help!

Beats me. These guns have had little collector interest and low values for a long time. For some other guns of which that was also true, like the High Standard Sentinel revolvers and pre-1936 Spanish pistols, interest and values have been going up lately. I have no idea if that is true for these late-model Iver Johnsons. There aren't a lot of them around, but what matters is if people want them.

Off the top of my head, I would say you'd have to be very lucky to get $200 for it, because you'd have to find somebody who really wants it. Otherwise, its value is just as a shooter, and 38 S&W shooters don't go for much these days.

I would suggest doing a Google search for gun auction websites, then searching the completed auctions to look for these. You'd probably have to register at the website to do that, but it doesn't cost anything or result in much spam.

All the above is just my two cents, of course.

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for putting up pictures with your question! I know it's not a big deal, but why are all the pictures tinted pink?

PS - if you sell it to a gun store, don't expect to get much at all. They won't see this as a fast mover, and they make a BIG markup on used guns.
