I just got back into reloading now that I'm retired and divorced. Hell yeah. I have purchased a great amount of hornady products since January. My LnL press was a Hugh problem setting it up. I was on the phone with Hornady a lot. I watched there DVD many times and I still had problems. Hornady sent me parts I needed and watching many of your utube videos, I believe I'm on my way to getting off on the right foot. I can't thank you enough for shareing your knowledge. Great job!!! When I did talkto the Hornady techs I did mention you and your videos. I told them it's there loss of not hiring you in the hornady team. I will watch your videos and I will make my kids do the same. A huge thanks for your help.
Mark
Thanks, I will check out his channel. I think I already did but, I will take his knowledge and anyone else's. I was so used to my RCBS single stage press but, that's past history. I'm back and I'm ready to shoot. Woman like to cook and try new recipes, I like reloading recipes with powder and bullets, HA HA HA!
there's a reason he is not on their team. He wants to stay independent and cover all the bases without corporate influence. That way he can be objective and speak his mind with out having some "suit" looking over his shoulder
not that green. Redding green. I'm trying talk him into some blue koolaid

I have and old RCBS single stage press and other items from RCBS. They got better but, Hornady way back year ago, when they were pacific, had top notch products. It was hard to find them in any of the stores in Illinois stores or Wisconsin. I will only use at this point use Hornady. That's my personal feelings.
Thanks Mark. We have become good friends and I appreciate your thread.
I have included Redding on my channel and soon will be running Dillon. My future goal is to run the following presses on my channel.
Redding T7 Turret
Redding Big Boss
Redding Big Boss 2
Dillon Square Deal B set up for 45 Auto
Dillon 55B
Dillon XL 650
As for Hornady: I will be getting rid of ALL my Hornady equipment shortly (single stage presses, dies, calipers, case trimmners, etc) and I am considering getting rid of my Hornady progressive press. If I keep my Hornady progressive press it will be because many of my subscribers have bought their presses because of my videos. I may make a video asking the opinions of my subscribers because they come first. If the majority is OK with me getting rid of the Hornady progressive press then that is what I will do.
Once again, thanks Mark. I appreciate your comments and the guys here on TFF are solid and knowledgeable. Well, except for LDBennett. He's still in the newbie stages.

76high boy, can I ask why your considering on deleting your hornady products? You talked so highly about hornady. Please give me your input. It's great that you enjoy helping others, like you do. Of course do what's right for you. Please let me know your deleting your hornady products. Thanks again for your videos.

Hi 76highboy, I can use your input if you will, please! I'm reloading .223 on my LNL and I'm having a problem see the small amount of powder in the brass. I have the Hornady light strip installed on the frame under the powder measure in station number 3. I saw in one of your videos you installed a light in the middle station of your LNL BUT, when I used a a flash lite in the middle of the press, it didn't seem like it going to be bright enough and I couldn't see the powder in the brass. Since it's a small caliber and uses a small amount of powder. I hope you can help
Also I'm new to this site and trying to figure it out. I leave myself signed on all the time. Thank you, Mark
What kind of charge are you talking about? I reload .223 for my AR and the cases are pretty full. With a decent light in the middle you should be able to see the powder charge, if not from the side than probably thru the station #3 or #4 hole. (if you don't crimp you have 2 open stations, if you do 1)
For .223 you could use a powder cop if you want, the RCBS lockout Die will not fit. The stem is too thick.
Personally the only thing I check is that the powder level is above the powder baffle, if it is the cases will be charged properly. I try to look into each case but I don't make a point of it.
B.T.W. I cannot see where you get the message from Highboy76 from, if it was a PM it is not proper to post it here without his approval.
Hi, I'm new to this site and I'm trying to figure it out. I don't want to do anything wrong or hurt anyone. Sorry if I did make a wrong doing.
I'm loading h-335 at 23.3 gr. and I'm going to be using IMR 4198 at 19.4 gr. I'm just getting back to reloading since I'm retired now. Thank you for you input. Mark

Yes, why the 180 on Hornady? I see the attraction on Redding, and I have nothing but respect for Dillion but I see pros and con's for both when comparing big red and big blue.
Hi, I have a question about reloading .223 on my progressive LNL. The question is, how can I see the gun powder in the brass, even though I have the Hornady light strip installed on the frame on the same size of the powder measure, in station number 3? I went back to the single stage so I can it it done correctly. Any input would be appreciated. I'm new on this site ans I'm still trying to figure it out. I leave myself signed in all the time to make it easier for me thanks.

Here is something I did so I could verify powder charges on tall cases, 357/38 spcl in my case. It might work on .223 but I load 223 and all rifle on my SS press and use a flashlight for a final verification.
I have never looked at any of his LNL videos. I used a Lee single stage press for somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 years, then bought a Lee Loadmaster progressive, what a piece of crap that was. Got rid of it within 6 months and bought a Dillon 550B. In my opinion, the Dillon is one of the best progressives made.
My buddy has am old Dillion 650 I was thinking a Dillion myself but I chose the hornady. I used and old RCBS rock chucker. The other stuff I got was RCBS I WAS NOT happy with it. I liked the pacific trimmer that I used for many years so I decided on the hornady LNL and many other stuff from them. I'm working the links out. I'll get there in time.
now that I'm divorced things are great and retired. I thought today was Saturday. I always loose track. I'll be late for my own funeral I guess. Ha Ha! I just need to put the finishing touches on my gun room. Between reloading.
I'm using IMR4198 at 19.4 gr and H-335 at 23.3 hrs. I did a 100 rounds with my SS press. This way I can look into the loading block and make sure each shell has powder. I did put a flash light into the middle spot and I had a hard time seeing the powder in the shell on my LNL. 76 highboy I'm going to google the light you have and you showed it with a complete kit. I like it and I think it will work better then the hornady light I bought at cabelas. Thanks for you help I really mean thanks. Your a blessing come true. Mark
Since I getting back into reloading and I'm not making hunting loads I watching out of what I'm doing. I'm going with lighter loads. Plus the powder is older and the city primers. I'm trying to be smart so no one gets hurt or me.
Hello 76 highboy, if I can request, please don't delete your videos about setting up and working the hornady products. I refer to them still and I appreciate them. Your a good man for doing them. You take your time away from your hobby and family to help others, like me. Your efforts in helping others can be in unrewarding by ignorance, HORNADY I understand how you feel about Hornady. I coached youth hockey and the parents can be very unruly and inconsiderate. I did coach hockey and I enjoyed it. It was a big hobby for me and I did it for the kids not the parents. I taught the kids, a game that they loved. At heart I'm still a kid but, my toys had gotten more expensive. Your detail if the Hornady products went into deeper detail and really taught me and I'm sure others how to set up the LNL.
I will get the light and I will order it today. Again, thanks you for all you have done for me and others like me.
Mark or Tonkamagnum
Hi 76highboy, thanks for your input. I just talked to Dan, i ordered the lighting system. I did mention your name and he knows you and feels your a good man who knows reloading. I told him you sure are! I'm putting in my mind what I'm going to say when I contact Hornady. I will mention something to them. It seem they forgot where they came from and who cared and helped them promote there products Thanks, for the contact. A Hugh thanks for everything. I saw your 76, f-250 Mark and I will say I loved my 79, f-250. It was a great heavy duty truck. I modified a lot of things on it. I had a 8 inch lift kit I installed on it. It had a 351 engine. Sadly it was stolen, I was angry. Life goes on. I ordered the truck from ford. Thanks for all your help
