Does anyone else find Glock people to be more than a little arrogant?

They act like if you're not carrying a Glock then there is something wrong with you.

Glock, to them, is the greatest things since sliced bread.

I've seen this with LEOs too all over the net who prefer something else. They get shoved around with the Glock mentality in policy and requirements.

I'm not knocking people who like Glocks or necessarily the pistol itself. Personally I don't like them, I would never buy one. They're ugly, they're plastic, they don't feel good to me, they don't have a hammer or. But I understand some people feel different. I have a lot of friends who like Glocks and will swear on them. But I'm talking about a mindset and influence that seems to make up a lot of people these days.

Any handgun that coined it's own name for "catastrophic failure" is not for me. Along with any manufacturer that voids warranties if used with handloaded ammunition. If you can't handload for it, you will NEVER shoot it enough to get good with it. PERIOD.

"Kaboom" ring a bell for anyone? There used to be websites devoted to them.

Now don't get me wrong, I have seen many different makes of handguns blow over the years, even 1911's when the IPSC guys were trying to "push" the Super to major...and .45s fired with a stuck bullet in the barrel because of the early Dillon presses (oh, there's ANOTHER one...DILLON fanatics!;))

But NEVER have I seen so much arrogance on the part of a manufacturer blaming ALL their catastophic blowups on the USER, and taking no blame for any of it...and explaining it as "unsupported case heads" like they discovered it, and glibly blaming everything on reloaded ammo!

JMB designed his 1905 and 1911 AROUND "unsupported case heads," Glock did NOT invent the "problem,", sorry!

For the first thirty yrs. that I shot pistols, I chose revolvers because they went bang every time I pulled the trigger. I'd owned a few .22 cal. semi's that I used for plinking & shooting rats in the city dump at night with the boys. As I got older, needed glasses and more rnds. to make sure I could eventually hit a target, I naturally went to semi's. My first was a .45 cal. Colt 1911 my brother sent home from Korea. It seemed reliable enough but still only held 6 shots. Somewhere in the next 30 yrs. I acquired a Glock 26, my first Glock. It holds nearly three times the ammo yet weighs half as much as my old Colt. After all these yrs., it has never so much as burped & went bang every time I've pulled the trigger. It will be my EDC until it stops doing that. I have other brands of guns but I'm too old to prove their reliability now.

Seems like a lot of people own Glocks and brag about them, and that's OK with me. They might be the greatest guns in the world, but I've never owned one for reasons unknown. I've never owned a Dodge either and I have nothing against them either. I guess I'm just a Colt and Beretta and 1911 guy. I keep a Beretta 92d beside my bed and a Beretta Pico in my pocket and sometimes I carry a Colt, but they are to big to carry in the summer with t-shirts and shorts.

IMHO, I think the 1911 and Browning High Power grip angle is perfect. I had one of the first generation Glocks and never did warm up to the angle difference between them. Aside from that the Glock never missed a beat as long as I had it, it ate everything I fed it. My first 1911, a Colt Combat Commander was a little finicky about it's diet, but when fed the proper nutrients it was gun I'd bet my life on. In addition to the H-Ps and 1911s, I have a Ruger SR40 (plastic gun) that is rapidly becoming a favorite.

The Fan, Maven or Aficionado of ANY type firearm, auto, sports team, et al has the capacity to bore and or piss off everyone they meet. But mostly, only if you let them.

I have been a 1911 & SAA fan for most of my life. I like DA revolvers too. I didn't buy a Glock until last year, some 30 odd years into my gun buying history. A buddy has a 34 in .45ACP and I was carrying a Charles Daly Officers ACP. I had some cash and bought a Glock 42, then 2 months later a #34 in .45 and about a month later a #23 in .40.

I'm carrying the 23 now and I like the increase in number of rounds vs the 1911. I'm not any more of a Glock snob than I was a 1911 snob.

WALDT - (we all like different things) If someone doesn't like Glock, cool, if they don't like 1911's cool, if they don't like Colt SAA's, they can kiss my butt!! :D  LOL
