A few weeks ago I got a new Smith 586. I've had it out in the woods a couple of times but this morning I took it to the range and shot 100 rounds. I shot a few rounds off sandbags to check the sights, no adjustment was needed. The target here was 32 rounds shot standing with a two hand grip, 10 yards. I shot these single action.
A friend of mine had one that looked just like that, it was a good shooting gun. Some years back I bought a 2.5 in barreled 686 for my wife. We took it to the range with full power 357 loads (don't remember the actual load). She shot six and I shot six, beat us up something terrible, I sold it a month later. The longer barrel would have been a keeper. We have a Model 65 with a 4 in barrel now and she shoots only 38s through it and loves it. Go figure
Very nice gun, don't sell that one! Well you can to me.
