Hi guys :) .

I just made the rounds of all my usual haunts & everyone's ammo supply is overflowing with every round you could possibly imagine with the exception of .22lr thanks to all the hoarders that are picking it all up for $25 a box and reselling it for profit.

One thing that really surprised me was they had 30-40 Krag & .303 British which has been next to impossible to get locally for a long time unless it was ordered online.

Big 5, Sportsmans, Cabelas, Fred meyers and everyone else has chit' piles of ammo. The only place thats still poorly stocked in the ammo department is Wally China Mart which I don't understand but I really don't care either.

luckily for me they did have an ample stock of 380 and 7.62x39 Tula so I picked some up.

I found the MFS x39 & pmc 380 ball fmj @ Cabelas. I've never used the FMS before, but I am guessing it's reboxed steel case spam can ammo because inside the box it's still wrapped and stapled in paper just like spam cans. it doesn't matter to me and it still shoots good especially when its cheaper than Tula at wally China Mart at $5.50 a box.
the wolf & Winchester is from Sportmans :) ...

I am betting with all the ammo I have seen around here in stock I would have to say it was somewhere around 500,000 rounds if not more. The shelves and displays are all packed and what they couldn't get in them was stacked in big piles on pallets everywhere. Even as poorly stocked as Wally China Mart was they had numerous pallets of Tula 380, x39 & 54r which is also what they had the most of.

With 350+ firearms and firearms accessory manufactures just here in Idaho, it makes me wonder just how many of them are ammo manufacturers. I know we have CCI / SPEER here, I guess I'll have to see who else we have around here :) ...

I was at my LGS yesterday and they were light on stock. They had a little of everything but prices were sky high. They even had 22lr but it was $45 per 550 rounds of Remington thunderbirds.

Cabela's had a good supply and good prices but very little 22lr.

Not to much ammo around here either. Mostly plinking loads, with a very little good SD ammo. I'm seeing more .22 now, but not every one has it. I even managed a couple of the 100 round boxes of CCI .22 Mag.

I live about half way in between Reno and Sacramento and get to both about once or twice a month. With Cabela's in Reno and a place called Ammo Depot near Sacramento I seem to be able to find just about any ammo I could need. Prices seem to be coming down some on plinking level ammo. Anything with quality bullets is still really high as is .22.

Rocklin Bass Pro Shop due to open around October. That'll be nice when you're closer to Sac. I'm around the Yuba City area and have a LGS I go to for my powders and a Sportsmans Warehouse in Lincoln that I go to that often had powders and components I need, but I'm curious to see that Bass Pro open up to see what they have to offer.

I was at Ace Hardware yesterday. The ammo cabinet was overflowing but .22's are nonexistent. I've got a supply to last a couple years at my family's current rate of plinking. Good thing I've got my ARs and stuff to feed them
