I picked up two Gen 4 guns in 40S&W a few years ago and I have not had any case bulging. Now I'm looking at a new Gen3 and I'm wondering if it will bulge cases.
take the barrel out and place a new round into the chamber and turn it upside down.
This will show you the portion, if any, of the unsupported part of the case.
click on the link below, this was one of my prior post about this which some people found helpful
there are some pictures there that will help you Glock Bulge
This is a two part answer really. No it will not leave the Glock smilie bulge like the Gen1, & 2 Glocks. Yes it will bulge evenly like the Gen4, XDm, or M&P pistols. I am a serious Gen3 fan boy. I had 1 Gen4 last year that I put 50 rnds of 9mm through, put sold it after the first range trip. I like the Gen4 frame, but dislike the recoil system.
Gen1 & 2 bulge (Glock smilie from a unsupported chamber)
Gen3/4 bulge.
Case on the left was from a KKM barrel.
