I'm new here and if i'm posting in the wrong place I apologize and will accept any guidance offered. I have a U.S. revolver company 38 I believe. Number on trigger guard is 11601. I am looking for any information I can get about this firearm. Date of manufacture, if it is actually a 38 , where I can purchase new grips for it, anything. it does have a hammer, I read where there were hammerless models made. i'm attaching to pictures if any other info is needed from me i'll gladly try to provide. Thank you for any info.

US Revolvers were made by Iver Johnson after 1909 using their surplus black powder frames after they converted to smokeless frames. They were sold thru the mail and proved to a successful endeavor for Iver Johnson. They were made in a top break, hammer and hammerless, and in a solid frame.

They were chambered in the .38 S&W and .32 S&W black powder cartridges. You should not attempt to fire modern smokeless ammo thru it is was not constructed for it. You may notice the cylinder free spool, which is normal this model.

You can occasially find grips on eBay or *********. Numrich Gun Part also has the grips.
