Best color to paint the front sight on my new Jimenez JA 380 carry gun

I am new to this forum and just got my first ever gun and the one I plan to carry, a Jimenez JA 380. Already got a handall JR for some extra grip on the handle plus a Galco stinger belt holster for the gun, that was not cheap being nearly 70 bucks. Now I want to make the front sight more visible against backgrounds but I am unsure what color would be best or paint that would well but not be too expensive. Plan to have this gun till I eventually get a Sig P238 in the rainbow finish to match my pride necklace as my carry gun so figured it is worth customizing it some. Thanks for your time and having this awesome site.

One of the nail polish's should be durable enough, and I would look at the bright orange or green's some of the youngsters are wearing nowdays... depending on whether you got the stainless or the black will determine whether or not you can use nail polish remover on it (it may damage the black).

put 200 rounds thru mine in one day without a single issue, hollow points too. All things mechanical fail in time.
Most of us here have been in and around firearms for decades
It is hard to measure how many hundreds of years of combined experiances we have here
When Howlin gave you an opinion about the Jiminez arms, he was only trying to relay from experiance
I was personally there when a friend bought one of those brand new and we went right out to the gun range and it wouldn't fire out of the box.
Jiminez Arms guns don't have the best reputation. Ever hear of any police departments issuing them?

Nobody, including me is trying to do anything other than let you know, what we know
Personally I would not bet my life on a Jimenez Arms pistol as a carry gun.

The sooner you can get your Sig you want, the better...in my opinion

be well...

Testor model paint works well, and can be had in glow in the dark, or day glow colors. Sold at your local Hobby Shop.

I have used my wife's bright red nail polish on the front sight of my .22. I found white would not give a good sight picture against paper targets. It has held up reasonably well. Just make sure it is a BRIGHT red or it sould be too dull to see well in low light.

Brooklyn, DB and howlnmad are just passing on some very fine advice.
For a plinker, I have bought and shot many very low cost and low quality guns. Some were a pain, some were fun. I have a cheap import two shot derringer in .38 that shoots - sometimes. It is an excellent tool to determine how much flinch I have; How badly does my hand jerk when it does NOT go off?
But you identified this as your CARRY gun.
Your life can depend on this piece operating reliably the first time, every time.
You would be WAY better off buying a used S&W, Ruger, Colt, or other well known brand name and have a good gunsmith check it out for you.
As I said, I have bought and shot many low cost low quality arms -
But my carry pieces are all quality - NOT the most expensive, but quality.
If you want to tinker around on the back 40, you might enjoy driving a Yugo.
But if you are going to take your family down the interstate, I would advise a better quality vehicle.

Not trying to stir you up, just reinforcing some very good advice that has been given to you.
And we are NOT talking about a Sig here - there are MANY very reliable pistols that cost no where near what that one will set you back.
It is a beautiful piece - excellent quality. But I would not trust my life on a Jimenez for the extra time it would take to save up enough to buy one.

I have used Testor paints in the past but lately I just use fingernail polish. Easy to remove if you don't like the results using none acetone fingernail polish remover. I use some white for the first coat and then I put on the gaudiest red/orange fingernail polish I can find. Here is the front sight of my Ruger LCP which is badly needing help seeing that minimal front sight. Also a picture of my Ruger LCR which has much better sights to start with but for a carry gun where front sight is so important and time is a minimum I painted it too.

That does give it some good visibility, unless you run into a psycho wearing a giant SpongeBob Squarepants T-shirt. Then you might lose the color in all that Technicolor chaos. lol
