The thicker polymer on the left are from a DPMS and the right is from an Anderson. The DPMS poly is thicker than the Anderson but the Anderson has aluminum shields. I never used the DPMS as I replaced them w/ a quad aluminum rail on day one after getting it out of a box so I can't give any usage comparisons between the two. Anyone have any comments to offer?

I have built a total of 11 AR's in the past few years. I have gotten most of those hand guards off eBay. I have built three that looked like the A1 rifle, on the first two A1 clones I built, the hand guards came from Numrich Gun Parts, and on the last A1 clone I built, Numrich only had one side so I got a set off eBay. I have gotten several "free float" hand guards from sellers on eBay. You can find them that look like those super expensive ones for 1/4 the price (and I am cheap).
