I absolutely hate it when the "good guys" are being hunted down, and they kayo or kill one of the bad guys, but leave his gun there instead of taking it to arm themselves! Another thing... Unlimited ammo for everyone annoys the heck out of me as well.

And everyone seems to be able to own fully automatic weapons as well. When was the last time you saw one of those at the range? Any other pet peeves?

Always cocking back the hammer!!! Shouldn't have to, but for some reason the GG or even the BG always has to cock back the hammer... Even during a gun fight...

A few days ago I was kinda watching at one of those cheesy movies about giant crocodiles in some lake in Maine but this movie also had giant snakes thrown in the mix. One of the "stars" was a female game warden who carried an M1A. The rifle had a picatinny rail on top with no kind of optics on it and there would have been no way to use the iron sights. When she would shoot, she would sight down the barrel (sort of) and shoot!

Back in NY we had a customer who'd drop by the shop and go through the whole Barney Fife routine by slowly opening his jacket and withdrawing a 6"Colt Python from a shoulder rig, flipping open the cylinder, examining it for Lord knows what, then flipping the cylinder closed. He eventually dropped by with a dead Python. The constant flipping closed of the cylinder had battered the cylinder bolt to the extent that (a) it no longer functioned, and (b) it had caused a big honkin' bulge and pending crack on the right side of the frame.

#1 is when any guy with a gun shoots up all his ammo then throws the gun away. I guess they think everybody gets their guns from the studio's prop's dept. Either that or they're sure they won't live to fight another day. Here's a thought. Go down to your closest Walmart & buy some bullets. They're cheaper than buying a new gun!

Not much boithers me about guns in movies... two reasons: 1.) its JUST a movie, and b.) I consider the source (Holyweird liberals)... Mind you, some movies I didn't watch the whole thing they are so rediculous.
Come to think about it, the one thing that kinda did "cheese" me was when Clint didn't pop those kids that were on his lawn... he shoulda...

When I was a kid we watched 'Combat!' every week, those 1911's just went bang, bang, bang whenever Sarge pulled the trigger, never once did the slide move to chamber the next round, it just went bang every time the trigger was pulled.

So, my grand dad took us boys out shooting one day and let me shoot his 1911, I had no idea the slide moved, they just go bang when you pull the trigger, right?
Wrong!
That slide nearly broke my left thumb when it chambered the next round, I thought my grandpa was going to die laughing.

Guns with no recoil.

The original Assault on Precinct 13 (pretty sure there was a remake). Police station was moving, so just about everyone was gone to the new place. For some reason I can't remember the leader of an outlaw biker gang was brought there. The gang tried to bust him out - thus, the assault.

There were a few cops, and (again, don't remember why) several non-cops.

The first attempt, and a bad guy drops a silenced pistol.

Someone is using it to fight off bad guys during the second attempt, and afterwards is surprised to find it was empty. He thought the reason for no BANG was because of the silencer.

One would think that if you pull the trigger on a gun, and the first couple of times it moves in your hand, but the next ten or twelve it doesn't, you might suspect it's empty.

Apparently not in movies.

People keep saying that. But think a moment.

Take a 2", a 4" and a 6" Model 10, and an 8 3/8" K38. Shoot them with the same ammo.

Are they all the same loud? Hell no. That 2" is MUCH louder than that 8 3/8.

But if all the noise went out the flash gap, they'd all be equally loud. Since they are not, OBVIOUSLY some (a whole lot) noise is going down the barrel.

That means that a barrel-mounted can WILL quiet a revolver.

Completely silence it? No. But like so many people keep beating me over the head with, "It's not a SILENCER because it doesn't SILENCE the gunshot. It only SUPPRESSES it."

Well, a good can on the end of a 4" Model 10 will suppress it. Not as much as it would on a Model 52, but it will do some.
