Anyone have a spare set? I have a buddy on a budget that has a German 8mm Mauser from WW2 that his dad gave him, in good condition and he wants me to reload for him.
PM me if you do.
THank you! Not sure if he wants to remain anonymous but I have a set of dies on the way for my buddies rifle. We'll take better photos of the rifle once we get loaded for it and at the range.
If you have more info on this rifle's history please share. I know nothing about them.

Ahhhhh, the 30-06's daddy!!
Get some 196 or 200gr bullets, some IMR4064 and seat the base of the bullet to the base of the neck. You can thank me later
This rifle is from Gustloff-Werke (Weimar), appears to have been manufactured in 1943. I have a BCD also. Mine is a pleasure to shoot and as accurate as I am.
Your friend should get many hours of shooting fun from this old girl!
Slayer nailed that one, both times! The ol' 8 X 57 is one of the most underrated hunting cartridges in the US, not that it matters. There's only about 1,500 which at their worst are excellent.
From what I understand there was few J models (1500) but the JS was mass manufactured?
By the way, the dies this gentleman offered were .318 so they wouldn't work with this JS model?
You're right Mak. In 1905 The Germans went to the .323 groove diameter. Bore stayed the same. Should be able to get a bigger expander button and they would work.
The 8x57 is an excellent round! One of my favorites actually. I would slug the bore just to be sure its .323 and definitely check the free bore also. Perhaps I'll make a thread the ones I have. One likes 150's with IMR4895, the other likes 196's with 4064 and 175's with 4895. Haven't had much luck with 165's but I haven't given up on those just yet.
