In this thread I will try to tell you how I do my work. I will be the teacher so to speak. I am sure there are a lot of you out there that know more than I do, but I will share my ways, as well as ask questions on your ways. I can always learn, you never stop learning. I have been customizing for many years and now am ready to give some of my tips to others. Below is a picture of a set of Cherrywood that is just plain beautiful. I stippled a design on them and finished with Tru-Oil. I will post new pictures for your enjoyment in the future. ENJOY THE BEAUTY.
Hey George, I'm doing fairly well. I do have to go in the morning for a hernia operation. I'm hoping it will be miner. Can't ever tell with these things.
I have cut back on promoting my grips because of building my new shop in AL. I did finish it last week, just didn't get a chance to move my tools yet. Once I get settled over there I will be up and running again.
Thanks for asking.
Oh, I almost forgot to answer your question, the medallions are Wilson Combat. $53.00 a set. They are very proud of them.
Hello, long time no see.
Here is a set of grips that I think is beautiful. A customer sent me the grips and medallions and I inlaid them for him. I kinda like these medallions. They are new to me, and I found out that they can be ordered in different calibers as well as having your birthstone in them. They are not all that expensive either.
Here is a set that just finished and shipped. This was my take on what the customer told me he wanted, I have no idea what it represents. They are made out of some fine Holy Land Olive Wood. The design turned out to look better than I thought it would.
Carl, just curious since I dont have the gun yet, but can you do grips for a sig p938? I dont like the ones on the model I am looking at. Once I see how much hospital bills are, I plan on getting the pistol.
I'm pretty sure I can help, if the grips are fairly flat on the back side. Of coarse I would need the original grips to go by. Send me a picture of the back side of the grips via email and I can tell from that. cwgrips@gmail.com
Here is a set I recently made for a Llama out of Spalted Hickory.
Been doing a little cooking also.
Beautiful work! I love any type of burl wood or any thing with wild grain and colors, like birds eye maple, or tiger woods.
We just ordered a new bedroom set made form all old wine barrel wood, the wood is stained from decades of wine sitting inside the old wood, blonds and reds that are incredible, I can't wait to pick it up from Samuel the Amish man that made it, he is working on the last piece to the set and it should be ready this week.
Another set Desert Ironwood with a light coat of black dye, with a owners group Harley medallion inlaid flush with the wood. Lots of reflections I can't get away from
