This was a fun project.. first let me me say this is a personal project. and I hate the looks of barrel bands on ruger 10-22's.

On birch stocks I use walnut, on walnut or laminated I use mostly ebony.

The white line between the stock and tip is a chunk of bleach bottle plastic.

The finger grooves I rough in with a drum sander and finish with appropriate size tubing with sandpaper affixed to it with spray adhesive

The finger grooves eliminates the blocky feel of the grip.
I added grooves to the forearm on this one but they can be improved upon.

It was all doweled and acra-glass epoxy without the glass. and then finished with an oil finish

Good eye... yes its repaired.. I used a syringe and needle bought at the local farm store that has some animal first aid supplies.
With a modified clamp I spread the crack as far as I dare and injected it with WeldWood. its a powder you mix with water that sets rock hard if mixed correctly. it flows well through a needle.

Then clamped it and let it set.. it has held up well
