Charter arms Bonnie and Clyde Revolver Set?
 

They came out with this set in the 80's I believe the clyde was 38 special and the Bonnie was 32 mag. I want a set for some reason and have searched for a couple of years now to no avail. I have included the only link I could find with info about them. If you know where I can find a set or what they are trading for now. let me know.

That's Interesting, never knew of this set. All I can say is good luck finding it, I imagine that will be a very hard set to get a hold of.

Late 1980's, yes. The set usually sells for $550-$600.

I remember the Bonnie & Clyde set. They were not a commercial success. In fact, I think Charter Arms took some heat over them. Some gun writers considered it offensive to offer such a set.

I can see why with the criminal element involved but it would seem that a set like that could become collectable eventually for that very reason stated, I may be wrong. :confused:

The "Bonnie & Clyde" set was introduced in the CA 1989 Catalogue as "A Special Set of 'His and Her' Handguns. (pgs 7 and 8). My current research indicates this set was made in limited numbers into 1991. The guns were fashioned from the 5 x .38 SPL UNDERCOVER (Clyde) and the similar 6 x .32 H&R Mag OFFDUTY, models of that time - with a 2 1/2" shrouded barrel. The shroud was made of Aluminum alloy and had a molded in long ramp front sight and wrapped around the ejector rod. The barrel and upper frame were made of forged steel and the lower/trigger guard and grip frame were made of forged alluminum alloy (as were all the blued finish CA handguns.) They were only offered as a pair and were serial number in their own series: CXXXXXX for the Clyde and BXXXXXX for the Bonnie.
I don't know what the original SRP was. I've seen very few of these sets on the Internet and at gunshows. I only have one set of serial numbers included in my research notes: C00009 and B00009. Also don't know total number of sets made.

I have learned to not question your knowledge on H&R's or Charter Arms either, but you missed the call on this one.
That isn't a Mustang hood.
That is the hood of a 69 Camaro Z-28 with the Chevy 302.
No mistaking the cowl induction hood, and the Z-28 stripes.
Both of my brothers had one.
One is still in my mom's shed.

I was just about to respond when I seen your reply. Had a friend in the Air Force that had the 1st yr. Z-28 Camaro, 1967, 302 c.i. It's pretty hard to not notice the cowl induction hood..

That's what I used to spend all my money on before the Harleys, and now H&R's.
There used to be some kind of project going on out in the shop at all times.

Yeah, one of my brothers was smart enough to hold onto his.
It is a 68 Z-28, and he has had it for over 25 years.
Had several motors in it over the years, the wildest was a aluminum headed 6-71 blown, fuel injected 454.
Never really had it streetable, just a time and money pit!
His youngest is now in college, just a couple more years, and maybe he can start to spend some money on the car again.

I was thinkin'....maybe Jim Hauff just looked at the '302' emblem on that cowl hood and automatically assumed it was a stang.....I met several car enthusiasts over the years that didn't realize the Camaro Z-28 , or Chevrolet for that matter could be had with a '302'. It was a great small block motor!!

302 Has always ment Mustang GT - never knew or can't now remember much about Chebbies - A friend of mine had a 1969 Camaro - it had no emblems on it, but it was definitely "SOUPED". Almost died a few times in that damn thing. He let me drive it ONE time - we went sideways at a stoplight cause I broke the tires loose and the ass end wanted to go right in the worst way. Almost hit the astonished GTO driver in the lane next to us - he turned right to get away. The smoke cloud was surreal. I was forced to surrender the wheel. We took it down to Miami - from Allentown PA we made it down there in less than 20 hours - it usually was a 24 hour trip at "regular" speeds. Had to slow down to around 70mph at one point to determine we had a flat rear tire. Now that was a machine for the time when gas cost around 70 cents a gallon.
